The retail performance of vegetables for the year ending June 2025 shows broad-based vegetable value growth Australia 2025 across most categories, with a few standout performers leading the market.
Sweet potatoes delivered another strong result with a 24% lift in value and an 8% increase in volume, while cucumbers (15% value, 7% volume) and sweet corn (14% value, 8% volume) also continued to perform well.
Among the larger categories, potatoes (8%), onions (9%), and capsicums (9%) all showed solid value gains, supported by either stable or increasing supply. Cut leaf salad also returned balanced growth, with both value (5%) and volume (5%) edging higher.

On the other hand, cauliflower showed the slowest growth, with value down 5% and volume sliding 14%. Beans also faced pressure, declining 19% in volume despite a 6% increase in value. Asian vegetables (-8% volume) and cabbages (-6% volume) recorded softer results as well, suggesting ongoing consumer and supply challenges.
Overall, most vegetable categories delivered value gains, underpinned by rising prices, stable volumes, or a combination of both.
