The September quarter of 2025 recorded strong vegetable price changes across several key vegetable categories, with notable increases seen in tomatoes, beetroots, cauliflowers, potatoes, and peas.
Tomatoes led the gains, rising 41% from $2.82 to $3.98 per kilogram. Beetroot followed with a 31% increase from $1.72 to $2.25 per kilogram, while cauliflower climbed 26% to $1.04 per kilogram. Potatoes strengthened 23% from $1.59 to $1.96 per kilogram, and peas advanced 22%, up from $8.72 to $10.65 per kilogram.
At the other end of the scale, pumpkins recorded the largest decline, down 34% from $1.70 to $1.13 per kilogram. Cabbage dropped 26% from $1.42 to $1.05 per kilogram, cucumbers fell 23% from $4.21 to $3.23 per kilogram, leek eased 18% to $3.59 per kilogram, and zucchini decreased 17% from $2.09 to $1.73 per kilogram.
