The March quarter of 2025 recorded a 22% increase in the average wholesale price of total vegetables, reflecting ongoing vegetable price trends as prices rose from $2.31 per kilogram to $2.81 per kilogram compared to the same period last year.
Among the strongest performers, cucumbers surged 58%, increasing from $1.54 to $2.43 per kilogram. Beans followed with a 38% rise from $5.17 to $7.16 per kilogram, sweet potatoes gained 25% to $1.12 per kilogram, potatoes increased 20% to $1.89 per kilogram, and celery rose 17% to $1.39 per kilogram.
In contrast, the largest price declines were seen in cabbages, down 28% from $1.70 to $1.22 per kilogram, broccoli, falling 26% from $4.29 to $3.18 per kilogram, cauliflowers, which dropped 24% to $1.12 per kilogram, Brussels sprouts down 23%, and sweetcorn declining 9% to $3.23 per kilogram.
