Fruit Volume and Value Growth for Year Ending September 2024

For the year ending September 2024, watermelons led with a 52.7% increase in fruit value and volume, while grapefruit saw the largest decline at 56.2%.

The retail performance of fruits for the year ending September 2024 demonstrates a mix in value and volume growth across categories. Watermelons recorded the highest value growth of 52.7%, followed by oranges at 43.2% and kiwifruit at 29.4%. Avocados and muskmelons also saw growth, increasing by 27.9% and 24.5%, respectively.

Conversely, several fruit categories experienced declines in value. Grapefruit recorded the largest drop at 56.2%, while cherries and limes followed with decreases of 41.7% and 12.0%, respectively. Grapes and raspberries also faced value declines of 8.1% and 9.4%.

Volume growth trends similarly reflected a wide range of outcomes. Watermelons led with a 52.7% increase, while grapefruit and cherries saw the largest decreases, at 56.2% and 41.7%, respectively.
