The December quarter of 2025 highlighted several notable vegetable price trends compared with December quarter 2024, with several products recording strong upward momentum, while others experienced notable declines.
Potatoes recorded the strongest growth, rising 54% compared with the same quarter last year. Sweet potatoes increased by 34%, followed by tomatoes at 31%. Beetroots grew 27%, and Asian vegetables saw an increase of 20%, completing the top five categories with positive movement.
At the other end of the market, pumpkins posted the largest decrease, falling 27% for the quarter. Leeks also declined 27%, while asparagus eased 12%. Peas were down 12%, and cabbages decreased 11%, rounding out the five categories with the largest declines.
