Top 10 Australian Vegetable Exports – September 2025

Australian vegetable exports have fallen 8% over the past year, but rising demand from the Qatar and UAE highlights new growth opportunities.

The Australian vegetable exports market experienced fluctuations over the five years ending September 2025, with total volumes recording a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of –5.6%. This reflects a softening in export activity over the period, shaped by the competitive nature of these markets.

Exports peaked in calendar year 2021 at 221,436 tonnes, before declining to 197,144 tonnes in 2022 and 183,811 tonnes in 2023. A partial recovery followed in 2024, reaching 190,629 tonnes, however volumes softened again in calendar year 2025, with exports estimated at 175,251 tonnes.

Despite the overall decline, some markets show positive momentum. Key changes between September 2024 and September 2025 included a significant decrease to Taiwan (–23.4%), alongside growth in Qatar (+26.5%) and a modest increase in the UAE (+1.6%), highlighting emerging opportunities in these markets.
