Mealpulse™ docketdata
Mealpulse™ panel respondents forward their supermarket dockets for the retail food purchases they made during the week they completed their on line response. The data from these dockets is captured and processed through combination of scanning and in-house software. This has proven to be a more comprehensive and effective way to capture the product detail of retail food purchases.
The data is then available to be analysed with all other Mealpulse™ data and can be used to identify, map and track a number of food purchasing and consumption variables. These include:
• The influence of time of day on choice of retailer and product selection
• Companion or substitute purchasing relationships between products
• The impact of promotional activity on product volume & value
• The incremental impact of promotional activity
• Variations in the volume of product purchased with each retailer
• Average sale and number of items by retailer
• Preferred payment means and card type
• Loyalty scheme penetration by retailer
• Impact of weather variables on state based demand
This data can be combined with the existing respondent profiles and their preferences to assess and define the variations by segment and location.
